 ADVISER EDGE 2014 ROCKS THE GOLD COAST WITH MOBIT

THE CHALLENGE

AdviserEdge is an annual educational event for the professional financial adviser community in Australia. Hosted by The Social Adviser, the three day seminar is a catalyst for innovation and idea exchange within the community. It is about creating the physical gathering of a growing virtual community of the current and new leaders among the advice professions for three days of the best and most valuable days of their professional year.

The team at 'The Social Adviser' host Adviser Edge each year and in 2014 the challenge was to double the attendance of that achieved in 2013 and to find a way of delivering rich content to delegates throughout the three day event via their mobile phones. 

"Email wasn't a great option as most people struggle to receive marketing content these days. We also wanted to demonstrate innovation and integration to social media as well as having a central management system to gather delegate information to be able to market to them post the Adviser Edge event."

THE SOLUTION

The Social Adviser team created a MOBIT campaign for the AdviserEdge event which included a series of pre-registration MOBIT messages (including mobile landing pages) that informed delegates with the use of videos, speaker bio's and networking event information. 

On 'game day,' delegates received the first of their MOBIT 'live event' campaign messages upon registration. MOBIT's unique campaign builder and landing page editor enabled the team to send out quick reminder messages throughout the three day event to let delegates know of new information as it came to hand.

LEAD GENERATION STRATEGY 

The Opt in Process

Like a number of companies in the world today, The Social Adviser had a wealth of email addresses, but only a small percentage of these contacts included mobile numbers, not least permission to market to these contacts. For the 2014 AdviserEDGE conference, a special email was designed and sent to their list asking them to text 'ADVISER' to their short-code. 

The email explained that MOBIT would be used during the event for seminar times, speaker bio's, offers, and special networking invitations etc... The 'double opt-in' reply required by each delegate was 'YES'. Of the 493 people on their event list, a response rate (double-opt-in) of 98.7% was obtained.

 

THE RESULT

Adviser Edge 2014 was a super successful event. Over 3500 MOBIT messages were sent to delegates during the three day conference advising them of everything from speaker bio's, special day events, evening programs and invitations to subscribe for Social Adviser and speaker programs via unique MOBIT landing pages. 

All interactions on the landing pages such as page views, clicks, downloads, and form submissions were captured against each delegates contact record in MOBIT's mCRM module. This enabled the Social Adviser team to better understand the needs of their delegates and provide more customized and pertinent information to their customers post the event.
