Like a number of companies in the world today, The Social Adviser had a wealth of email addresses, but only a small percentage of these contacts included mobile numbers, not least permission to market to these contacts. For the 2014 AdviserEDGE conference, a special email was designed and sent to their list asking them to text 'ADVISER' to their short-code.
The email explained that MOBIT would be used during the event for seminar times, speaker bio's, offers, and special networking invitations etc... The 'double opt-in' reply required by each delegate was 'YES'. Of the 493 people on their event list, a response rate (double-opt-in) of 98.7% was obtained.
