What currency are your charges?

All charges on this website are shown in USD currency. On acceptance, you will automatically receive a digital copy of your invoice which with charges shown in USD. For New Zealand clients, we show a local NZ exchange calculation on our website at point of check out. The invoice you receive though will be in USD currency and include a 15% charge for New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST).

What is a keyword?

SMS Keywords are limited to 15 characters and must be made up of either letters or numbers.  They are used in conjunction with short codes (e.g text MOBIT to 72000) typically to advertise your business or service. Also, they have to be unique, which means the SMS keyword will not be available if it's already used by any another MOBIT customer. We have a great resource here which is free to download. We call it our 'Ultimate Guide to SMS Messaging and Marketing' and it covers everything you need to know about life in the mobile world.

Can I purchase additional keywords?

Sure thing. If a keyword is available then you can add additional keywords to your account for an additional USD$10/month per keyword. Each plan comes with a number of free keywords as part of your subscription.

What is a short code?

A premium short code is a mobile number that is used for both 'inbound' and 'outbound' messages. MOBIT only use Tier 1 carrier approved codes to ensure that your messages are always delivered across the fastest route. Short codes are also great for marketing and growing your lists. e.g People can text in your keyword (e.g MOBIT) to 72000 and receive an auto response to your landing page message.

Premium short code messages are sent from our short code that is directly connected to the major cell phone carriers. Delivery speed and reliability is comparable to sending a text message from one cell phone to another. Messages are limited to 160 characters per text in the US. Australia and New Zealand.

WARNING: There are cheaper text providers in the market but these providers use SMTP Email to Text Technology and THEY ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THE MOBILE CARRIERS. These providers mostly use obscure long codes (e.g. (555) 5432 1122). The Tier one mobile carriers in all markets regularly black list and drop messages from these services and as a user, you have no idea if the messages you have paid for have actually been delivered. MOBIT DO NOT provide SMTP - Email to Text services.

Where are the MOBIT servers and where is my data stored?

The entire MOBIT platform is hosted on Microsoft Azure Enterprise Cloud. Our primary servers are located in the east coast of the United States.
Microsoft Azure is the only major cloud platform ranked by Gartner as an industry leader for both infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). Azure runs on a growing global network of Microsoft-managed datacenters across 13 regions.


Why do you not provide SMS credits?

We do provide 50 FREE credits to get you started. These credits apply to each country where you have a short-code registered. One credit = one SMS. We do not charge for inbound messages, only outbound, so this is a big saving for you. In terms of bulk credits, we think its easier for our customers to just purchase what they need, when they need them. SMS bundles purchased from MOBIT never expire.

Every one of our plans come with FREE chat and email support. Our ULTIMATE PLAN comes with FREE Phone support and you can add this to any of our other plans for an additional USD$27.00 per month. Our support teams are available every weekday from 9AM - 6PM in the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Our email ticketing system is monitored 24 hours a day and we typically respond to all tickets within 2 hours.

What is a 'double opt in' contact?

This is a contact in your MOBIT contact list that has provided you with permission (double opt in) to send them marketing material or communications from your company to them via SMS.

What happens if my list goes over this limit?

You simply upgrade your MOBIT account to the next plan.

Is the SMS rate the same in all countries?

Sadly no. The various carriers in each country have their own unique charging systems and we buy from them at wholesale rates. Our rates vary from as low as 2.9 cents/message in the USA to around 17 cents/message in New Zealand. Select your country here to see our rates for your area.

What countries can I send messages to?

MOBIT allows you to send SMS messages (with our unique intelligent landing pages™)   anywhere in the world from our US, UK, AUS, NZ or Canadian short code numbers as well as our SMS long code numbers. With these numbers, you can send SMS messages to 150+ countries, over 1,000 global carrier networks, and billions of subscribers.

MOBIT uses carrier approved multi-path routing to deliver the highest speed possible across the global SMS networks.Depending on the country of destination, the recipient will receive their message on either a 'long code' number, or our 'short code' number if they reside in a country where we have a short code service.

MOBIT use dedicated short-codes and as such, all our traffic is monitored and audited by the carriers for compliance and spam.

Can MOBIT receive text responses from all other countries?

Yes of course. When a recipient of your message interacts with the message (returns a text response or fills out a response on our intelligent landing pages™, this response is immediately received in your MOBIT account with the response information stored against the contact record in our CRM. With our automation actions, you can then send per-configured responses or follow-up actions of interact with the user manually by returning an individual text response.
